what I do Well, my work has been kind of a jumble. I have a degree in Urban Planning and did work as a public transportation planner for six years. Before and since then, however, I have done assorted office work. For the past nine years I’ve been working for a regional planning agency but, unfortunately, not doing any planning – I do all the accounting (which is very painful for me) and work on their website (which I really enjoy) and other stuff like minutes (ugh!) and the newsletter and database management etc, etc. |

| | | my family Since I lost my mother in 2004, there’s just me and my little kitty, Callie. She’s so sweet and funny and the light of my life. No husband (past or present), no children (except my baby Callie, of course), no siblings. |

| | | | | | where I live Grand Rapids, Michigan
Where I’d Like to Live: Someplace warmer!! Someplace where winters don’t last six months! I’ve lived in this part of the country all my life (besides Michigan, I’ve lived in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio) and as soon as I can afford it, I plan to move far far away from this “winter wonderland”. After considering all the possibilities and their pros and cons, I think I might like New Mexico – although I’ve never been there. |

| | | | | | my favorite quote Guess I’m not good at decisions and couldn’t pick just one quote so here are a few of my favorites –
Never look back unless you are planning to go that way!
“You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle. ~ Gloria Steinem
Life is not the way it's suppose to be. Life is the way it is. It is the way you cope with it that makes the difference.
Well behaved women rarely make history.
“Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today.” ~ James Dean |

| | | achievement I'm most proud of Not too many yet. But I like to write and have some artistic/design talent, I think. A few years ago I created a website for family caregivers that I really enjoyed working on and that was a chance for me to use some of my creative abilities (and I guess I’m pretty proud of that). I’ve always wanted to write a novel (who doesn’t?) and I might try to work on that one day soon. Partly because I like to write but also, I think, because I don’t have any children and sort of feel that would be a way to leave a piece of myself for future generations (or at least the few people who might read it someday) – I guess it’s natural to want to leave even a small footprint on the planet to show that you passed this way. |
