Sentencing for the ol' liar, perjurer and state-secret-revealer I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby is underway as I write this.

Scooter "Don't Drop The Soap" Libby's defense team is asking Judge Reggie Walton for NO time - probation only. Failing that, they'd like Judge Walton allow Scooter "Felonious Junk" Libby to remain free - i.e. out of jail - whilst trying to overturn the will of the people via the appeals process (which could take a year or more).

Patrick Fitzgerald is asking for 30-37 months.

Any predictions on what the outcome will be, before we get to hear the decision?

There will be an appeal followed by a pardon, but just for chuckles, here are those pleas for mercy by the neocons. You just gotta' read these.

Actually, it's probably much simpler than that - I always knew Carville was far more concerned with staying in "the right circles" than he was with, you know, actual truth or fidelity to particular ideas or principles - especially progressive ones. Color me unsurprised.

Dang - I should've posted this earlier, so there would have been time for all the eventually incorrect conservative estimations of "NO time! Scooter's innocent! It's Wilson and Plame who lied!" to roll in. Ah well...
