Isabeau's UPDATE:

I would read that medical release very carefully.  I wonder if it includes a clause that "Fit Camp" is not responsible for any injuries?

Fitcamp FAQ

Hey guys!
Let me tell you how THRILLED I am with the kind of response we've been getting about fitcamp. It is going to be QUITE the event. I've been getting lots of emails with questions about various things, so I wanted to try and answer a couple of them:

Q: How many people will be accepted for each session?
A: We will limit the enrollment to 14 people per session. This allows us to give you individualized attention, as well as gives you the opportunity to develop real relationships with your fellow "teammates".

Q: Is this a weight loss competition?
A: No! This is 2 weeks of getting HEALTHIER! If this means you've never gotten off the couch- we'll fix that! If that means you've run a marathon and now you're training for a triathlon, we'll get you there!! Whatever your level of health, you can probably get more fit than you already are, and that's what we're here for.

Q: Am I "too small" or "too big" to go to Fitcamp? Is there a weight limit?
A: NO NO NO!!! Yes- Fitcamp is a a GREAT kickstart for someone with lots of weight to lose, but you will reap the benefits of fitcamp regardless of how close you are to your ideal weight. No one knows better than me how difficult the last 5-10 lbs are to lose- fitcamp will get you there!!

Q: How much should I expect to lose during fitcamp?
A: It depends on how much weight you have to lose, how your body functions, etc, but our goal is to have our attendees see weight losses between 5 and 25 lbs.

Q: Is this a one-time thing or will there be future fitcamps?
A: As of right now, we are aiming to make fitcamp happen 2-3 times during the summer season, one session in January of 2009, and then 1-2 other sessions between February and May. We WOULD be doing a fitcamp in June, but I will be recovering from my "extra skin" surgery and want to be able to fully kick your butts!! ;)

Q: This is really expensive...How do you figure this is a "deal"?
A: Well- think of it this way. If you were to hire a REALLY great trainer it would probably be about $100/hour (depending on the area you live in). Now, multiply that by 4 hours a day ($400/day) and then multiply THAT by 14 days. Your training fee ALONE would be $5,600. Now, at fitcamp, you'll be working with me, as well as one of Nashville's BEST trainers (he was mine when I was training for the finale), and you'll be getting visits regularly from past BL contestants who will all teach you new fitness and nutrition ideas. You'll be getting nutritious meals, a great hotel, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, lots of seminars and social activities and a bunch of surprises all for under just what the cost of a trainer for 4 hours, 2 weeks would be. I know it's not "realistic" for everyone, but it's certainly worth the money.

Q: I want to come, but I am a local of Nashville...What are the local rates and what does the local program include?
A: The local program includes EVERYTHING the overnight program does, only instead of proving breakfast, lunch and dinner, you only have lunch with us. You also obviously don't stay in the hotel, and are responsible for your transportation to and from the gym. The local program is $2,700 unless you're a member of Franklin Athletic Club and then the price is $2,500.

Q: What kind of payment plans do you offer?
A: There are LOTS of payment plans available, and the sooner you decide to register and begin payment, the smaller each weekly or monthly payment will be. For example, if you were in a Quad room ($3,500) and decided to do the 2nd session in August and pay weekly until the payment due date on August 1st, you would pay the $500 initial deposit up front, and then every week for 29 weeks, you would pay $103.45 via check or paypal. You could also decide to pay $428.57 each month, after the $500 deposit. Whatever your ability, we'll work with you to find the right plan.

Q: What kind of accomodations will we have? Will we have to take communal showers like you did on campus?
A: Yes, this was an actual question and I love it! You will be staying in a hotel. We are working on getting you the best rooms for your money, and hope they will include a kitchenette so we can stock your cabinets with healthy snacks. They will obviously have the standard bathroom- so unless you decide to, no communal showers!!!

Q: Will we be working out EVERY day? What else will we be doing?
A: You'll be working out ALMOST every day- 4-6 hours a day- JUST like on Biggest Loser. You'll be learning how to eat right. At night, you will have either a social activity or a seminar- we'll be bringing in BL alumni, nutritionists, doctors, lots of special guests to give you a TON of information. Also- we will havea couple "days off" where we'll be planning lots of surprises- Nashville touristy activities, a possibility of makeovers (woohoo), a day at the lake- something really fun.

Q: I have a special diet. what will we be eating?
A: If you tell us in advance, we will do everything we can to accomodate peoples' nutrition preferences- however, keep in mind, some of the food may be new to you if you're not used to "healthy living" and we ask unless you have an allergy or dietary restriction, you do your best to keep an open mind and try everything.

Q: I have an injury or medical condition. Can I still come?
A: When you register, you must sign a medical release saying you have consulted with your doctor and you have been cleared to participate in a 2 week intense fitness program. We, as trainers, will work around whatever you are physically not capable of.

Q: How old do I have to be to participate? Is there is age limit?
A: We welcome all young and young at heart, however, you must be 18 at the time of fitcamp because of insurance, clearance, etc. We will have lots of fun things for people of all ages, and so far have attendees registered ranging from their early 20s to their mid 60s.

Q: Will John Baker be there?
A: OF COURSE! Besides being an inspiration to others, John Baker is one of my great friends and will be there with you guys every step of the way!

**Hey- just a couple other questions that I've been asked have been added- here you go:***

Q: What are the rates?
A: For a single room, the rate is $5,000 for a two week session. For a double room, it is $4,200/per person/session. For a triple, it is $3,800/per person/session, and for a quad room, it's $3,500/per person/per session. All attendees must hold their registration slot with a $500 non refundable deposit by the end of February.

Q: Is transportation included in the fees? How do I get to fitcamp?
A: You are responsible for transportation to your hotel in Nashville (be it flying, driving, etc). Your hotel will be no more than a 20 minute cab drive away, and you're welcome to rent a car if you prefer to have your independence. However, if you need a cab or car service, we're more than happy to provide you with the name and info of a local company.

Any other questions, or to register for fitcamp (10 spots left!!!!) email fitcamp@isabeaumiller.com I'm so looking forward to meeting you guys this summer!

Oh me too!!!  I am not too sure if I understand her math either.. but that could be just me... I am math challenged...

This day and time--the economy is bad--and there are MANY other things people can do with $5k.... I don't see this working out.. and if I go there and only lose 5 pounds I would be thinking-- that is a grand a pound!!!  One could pay for liposuction for that price and probably lose more! LOL--not that anyone here would do that--and not that there is anything wrong with that... LOL But really... LOL

Now.. if this were taking place on some Caribbean island.. then.. maybe it could be justified.. but I thought it was in South Carolina or some place south.. um.. No thanks...

The Hotel will be in Nashville TN,  and from her description it should be right downtown.  The gym is in Franklin, TN about 20 minutes away.

I am thinking that you could get a vacation in the Carribean complete with a personal trainer for that price also.

I also wonder about the people that would pay that price for a trainer that has no experience.

Two weeks in Nashville and spending 4 to 5 hours a day in the gym is not my idea of good way to spend $5k either.  A cruise would be nice and aren't the personal trainers on the ship included?

I think Isabeau is just too full of herself.
