Hi,

Does anyone know of a good ab machine/piece of equipment that actually works. That is my problem area and always has been. I hate doing crunches. I tried buying videos but just can't get around to doing them. I would rather have a piece of equipment that I know works. I know that there are several out there but I don't know if any of them actually work.

Thanks

The only equipment that I use are some of the machines at the gym.  At home, I use a stability ball alot.  I honestly and truly find that the best ab exercises are exercises like planks, and core exercises.....are you looking for strength?  Body weight exercises are great too.

I agree that ab exercises on a stability ball are excellent, they work the entire core. Crunches on a declined bench also really target the abs, I always feel a good burn when I do these. But when done in proper form, the old standard floor exercises using your own body weight are good, too.

If you're looking for actual workouts, you can find excellent downloadable ones specifically for abs and core...

The firm 5 day ab tape. Gaurenteed visible results in 5 workouts. I have had this ab tape for like 8 years. The tape is a little dated old school workout outfits and what not, but this works. Should be no more then $9 at target or walmart. you dont need any other equipment. There is a box in part of the workout only 1 day of the and u can easily sub it with a chair. But this really works. I paid a personal trainer $35 3x week for nothing when this got me faster results then gym. Good luck.
