Hi, I'm new here. I have two sons (4 and 17 months), both conceived on Clomid. My first cycle was right on time, then the second time, it was day 21 before I ovulated. Today I am on day 21 and no ovulation. The really wierd thing is, I have been getting positive OPK's in the am, but then negative in the pm! What the heck is going on and has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping I'm just going to ovulate really late this time, but I'm starting to feel really depressed about the whole thing.

I'm on CD11 on round 3 of 50mg clomid and I'm waiting to O as well. I didn't O until day 19 last cycle but my doc didn't seem to think that was an issue since we had been studying the folicle with U.S. and that date seemed to fit with the growth rate. Are you being monitored by your doc at all while on clomid?

In regards to +OPK in the am but not in the pm. Ummmm...if you're getting a + in the morning, that means you're getting your LH surge and most likely ovulating. Your morning urine has a higher concentration of hormones than your evening's urine. So you really should only be using the opks in the morning. No need to do them at night since the test can get thrown off if you're drinking a lot of fluid...that makes the concentration of hormones in your urine very diluted.

I guess I would go back to the first + am opk and count that as your ovulation day. The most important thing is to BD every other day a couple of days prior to O (make sure you have "the boys" in the neighborhood) and then keep going until several days after O.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks. The thing is that I'm pretty sure I have not O'ed yet. I have not had any temp shifts at all, so that's why I'm pretty sure I have not. Also I'm still having ovary pain and have been for about a week. I'm so frustrated! I had a progesterone test done on day 21 (Saturday) and I'm waiting for the doctor to call and tell me the results and what our next move will be. They have not done any ultrasounds. I have never had any problems the other two times I took Clomid and I always ovulated, so I guess they didn't think they needed to. Now I wish they had been. :( Guess I'll just have to wait until the doc calls.

waiting is the hardest part of this whole process isn't it? You would think that I would learn to be a more patient person...but no! :) I just keep getting more and more impatient with every cycle! Hmmmmm....maybe that's the life lesson this whole mess is trying to teach me...Oh well! HA!

I'm not a temp taker...I don't have the patience! (Again with the patience I know!) But I'm being monitored with ultrasounds...thank goodness or I would be a nervous wreck! I get such peace of mind from those appointments!

Keep in mind that those eggies can be tricky and slippery little suckers! Keep up the BDing while you wait for your results. And keep in mind that every cycle is different so who knows what will happen next! (I would really like to talk to the individual in charge of this whole process and find out WHY it has to be so difficult!) :)

Good luck with your results and keep us posted.

Hi, I was on clomid for three months before I even got a positive ovulation result. I was told by my fertility specialist that Clomid helps but does not always work and can take several months before it does. I am trying again and was on 50mg for three months and nothing happened so now on 100mg at day 13 so will write back to you and let you know what happens at 100mg ( just for your interest and so you don't stress too much) hang in there
