I was reading an article yesterday about all of these celebrity moms who are getting back into shape so soon after having a baby.  What are your thoughts on this?  Do you think it distorts what the reality is of a post-delivery body?  Or do you think it acts as an incentive to get back into shape sooner (sort of like- if they can do it, so can I mentality)?

IMO, I think expecting moms to be in tip-top shape weeks after having a baby is absolutely ridiculous.  Seriously!  Now, if I had 24 hour baby care, a personal chef who planned and prepared deliciously healthy meals for me as well as a personal trainer every single day (not to mention a personal assistant or two)... then MAYBE it would be possible.  But even if I had all of those things, is it really even physically healthy to do that much exercise and/or dieting right after having a baby?

I totally agree Kat! If I had the nanny, chef, maid, personal trainer,etc.. then yeah I would probably look like that too,but I live in reality so nope ain't gonna happen ;)  When I see the magazine articles with the pics of the new moms looking so rested and skinny,I think whatever! That is so not what real life is like,so no it doesn't make me feel bad about how I look at all! Cause in all honesty I think I do farely well on my own ;) LOL!!

I totally agree!  I wish motherhood came with all those things (maid, cook, nanny, trainer...) as well as an extra set of arms!  I don't live in dreamland.  I live in reality.
