of the month for October 2009.
We would like to thank Patrick for all that he does for this community and all of iVillage.

What brought me to iVillage and when?
I first discovered iVillage shortly after I adopted Sammy and he had developed a urinary tract infection. At that time I knew very little about cats, let alone urinary tract infections. I found Pam Johnson-Bennett's Think Like A Cat board aswell as the Cats and Kittens board and the Indoor-Only Cats board. I was invited to become a CL on the Think Like A Cat board and when that board went off line, Marge invited me to be a Cl on the Indoor-Only Cats board and I've been there ever sine. I can't remember when I came to iVillage but it must have been 7 or 8 years years ago.
What made you want to be a Community Leader?
When I was first invited to be a Cl, I had to think about it for a little while before accepting. I finally accepted thinking that I could be of help to others.
What advice would you give a new Community Leader?
I think that a Cl should welcome new members, respond to discussions and to remember that Cls at not experts on the board we host. Cl's ought to be friendly, caring and compassionate. LOL....I think it's also helpful to have a sense of humour.
