Before February of this year, the last HP book I had read was #4. Then when I heard the release date for OOTP, I hurried and read OOTP. As soon as I had watched OOTP, which was of course July 12, I read HBP before DH came out. Then, I bought DH last Saturday morning and had it finished by Thursday... reason for my rambling... I'm going through some SERIOUS HP withdrawal!!!! I had even started dreaming about the books.... now what am I supposed to do?? I feel so empty and sad. After all these months (especially this one) of living with Harry and the gang, I'm all alone...

welcome to the board...you are not alone!

Many of us do re-reads...all the time. You catch new things when you re-read the books. In addition, there are many fan sites out there, where you can read fan-fiction. You can just google, "harry potter fan fiction" and I'm sure you'll get a ton of sites. If you are looking for anything in particular, feel free to ask here - many people have favorites!

Good luck, and once again, welcome!

Hello and welcome to the board. Jo Anne already gave you some pretty good advice but just wanted to add my condolences. The end of a series really does feel like a hole in your life! I've been getting some "fits of the sullens" too. It's hard to let go. I'm actually starting the series all over from the beginning again (for the umteenth time) to try and shake the HP blues.

Anyway, I hope you are feeling better about it all soon! And we do still have the possibility of a HP encyclopedia ahead of us....

(((HUGS)))

Hi there!

I am waiting for that feeling to hit me.  Just been busy with the daily board stuff.  I know that it will come though.  :-(

Like Joanne said, there are re-reads, fan fiction/fanart, more movies to come, etc.  Plus, according to JKR, she will be working on an encyclopedia.  Fandom for HP is not done yet.  Plus, we all still have our own imaginations and ideas of where the story would have gone, will go, and what happened before Harry and Company received their letters by owl that they would be attending Hogwarts (those many years ago).

I'm going to miss all the "what ifs" on the board here. It was so much fun trying to figure out what the characters meant by what they did and what that, in turn, would cause to happen next! :c)

I think, overall, JKR ended the series with all the loose ends tied up in a lovely package.

Ciao! Lori
