Describe a costume either the one you will wear Saturday, one you worn in the past or one that you just would like had done but, the trick is you can't tell us what the costume is, only describe it.

I look in the mirror as I make the finishing touches on my party attire. I slide the top over my head. The short sleeve top is bright as the sun, and, made of polyester. I fold down the collar and button up all the way till the top button which i leave undone. The buttons match the top as well. I then take the navy jumper off the hanger. Its hem stops just past my knees. Its top half has a slit which the yellow under peaks through. I slip on my black dress shoes and close the buckle on the side. I take yellow bands in my black hair and tie them up into pigtails on side of my head.

All ready for costume party. What am i?

A Bee comes to mind, but not with Navy, maybe someone in a marching band, or a cartoon character??? more clues please.

This Oct 31st and Nov 1st is the 25th anniverary of the Delhi Riots and Massacre. I may go to a formal worship service or my memorial may simply be inside when I remember the innocents who were butchered in cold blood. I cn never for get that noe one has ever been held accountable of brought to justice even though thousands died. Usually I will deck out in full formal regalia, but this year I have only simple apparel. I step into loose salvar, not satin like previous years, just indio cotton. I tighten the nala around my hips cinching the gathers towards the front, and tie a slip knot. I pull the kamees over my head. I have my formal gatra with me so pull it over my head and loop it across my chest and adjust the kirpan so that it hags comfortabley. I shake out 3 meters of my black dastar. I bend and wrap up my hair with one end about one meter  in length cloth and twist it up on top of my head. I wind the remaining two meters around my head and tuck in the end. I slip an indigo chuni of 2 1/2 meters over it in tuck it behind my ears. I step into my shoes and I'm ready. The door bell rings and I give out treats. This is nothing unusual for me. It's a way of life. Tomorrow when I go to our annual parade, a quarter of a million free meals including snacks like chips, icecream, sodas, bottled water and juice, home made sweets, and tasty favorites such as samosa and tikka, subji choli, rice, dhal and roti, will handed out to who ever comes to take part or watch.

Any guesses?

This is what I am really going as this year I got a costume party saturday, came up suddenly, so last notice, I saw my old high school uniform in the closet, so this year I'm a schoolgirl.

That makes sense it sounds school girlish. Was it a private school? the only uniforms I've seen besides band uniforms were usually plaid. although about the time my kids  finished school, our local districts began implementing a uniform type dress code. Have fun at your party.

I'll be dressing as myself. With a new baby in the house we will probably be just answer the door and not go out to any  programs. Its looking iffy for attending the Annual Sikh parade Sunday because I'm at my daughters about an hour from the parade and my husband is home about 3 hours away. He wanted to go but don't know if he'll be able to get away now. What I described is my formal manner of dressing. At home I usually dress more casually but still wear a turban and required articcles of faith.
