Hi everyone....I haven't seen Ellen in a couple of days and know that her FIL was quite ill so I thought I would start this weeks post. Do share with us what you are reading, what's the weather like where you are living and do you enjoy Halloween night at your home or cringe at the thought that's it's coming?

Since living in the condo townhouse (for the last 14 years), we haven't had any kids come to the house, so it's a pretty boring night eating the candy we bought and watching movies.  I like it.  This year it's on a Saturday though and I work Saturdays.  I foresee having to file paperwork for missing persons!  You know those teens and how they like to party...

I'm still reading Urban Gothic by Brian Keene.  Not very original but gory and a good read!  You haven't lived until you read about teenagers being brutally killed.... Right?

It's getting colder here.  I see in Alberta somewhere it snowed already!  It's not that cold here - it's mid-50s but the nights drop down to the 30s.  I still sleep with my window open!

Hi everyone....Sandra in Alberta and yes Jenn this is one area where it is snowing as I type. Way too early for this. Last week we were in the high 70's and yesterday and today it has barely reached above freezing during the day. I hope this is just a fluke weather system or else we will certainly be looking towards a very long winter.

I am still reading Lip Service by Susan Mallery and enjoying it. I should finish it today hopefully.

Halloween ...it's a cringe night for me. Well not really but I always look forward to it being done with. With 2 dogs and constant doorbell ringing it is like a zoo in our house. We also get tons of kids....we have had up to 240 a couple of years ago. Basically we feel like a hostage to our home that night. Being that it is on a Saturday it will be busy but at least we won't have to rush home from work to get set up for them.

I do love to see the little kids and their costumes though.

I'm still reading Galway Bay. I didn't have much reading time last week so it's going very slowly. My coffee maker died yesterday, so that had to be replaced. I spent the day shopping and came home with a coffee pot, new towels and a couple of new sweaters.

My building doesn't get any traffic. A couple of years ago the manager brought his daughter over in her costume. The funny thing is she didn't like candy so she went home with some fruit and cheese strings. Vancouver is the only place that I know of where fireworks are popular for Halloween so with it being a Saturday night, I expect it to be very noisy. I feel sorry for the dog owners.

It's been cold the last few nights and the days have been cool. It snowed up on the mountains a few nights ago and as long as it stays on the mountains, I'm happy. Lots of mountain snow should be good for the Olympic sports happening this winter.
