I wish I could read in the car! But I get motion sickness, and reading in the car is a big trigger. I've actually never listened to a book on tape all the way through. I might grab one on CD just to check it out one day. I would be afraid it might distract me while driving (although cranking 80's rock, headbanging and singing while pretending I'm on stage doesn't seem to affect my reflexes...LOL)
I hadnt been one for reading in the car really until i was reading the twilight saga and car pooling. Nothing can disturbe me while i read that. I havent been car pooling lately. I have never tried books on tape though. I enjoy that time with my music.
i definitely prefer the written word... i just don't like hearing my books read out loud. because of that, i have to forgo books all together in the car. i get car sick if i read so much as a road map. :(
While you're driving and singing I hope you're watching for the decoy police cars and cardboard cut-out S'toon cops. I just read an article about them and it cracked me up. It reminded me of the Corner Gas episode when the cops are trying to hide behind a bush.
