Here are two articles about the sequel and its release:

http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/2009-09-23-winnie-the-pooh_N.htm?csp=34

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/05/books/05pooh.html?_r=1

What's your take on the subject? After all of Disney's mucking around with Pooh (and I have to admit that I like the Christmas special I see every year), I was a bit skeptical. But when I read what the author has to say, I find myself more hopeful that this book is something good to add to my shelves.

Will you buy it?

As a child, I read and loved the original "Winnie the Pooh" books by A.A. Milne; they became a favorite of my own children and now, my grandchildren. I do plan on buying a copy of the sequel; whether or not it echoes the voice of Milne doesn't diminish the original works, in my opinion. In fact, I'm secretly kind of glad to see the new author says he's "made Eeyore a little more proactive, so he isn't always a victim."

I saw a little segment on the Today Show yesterday about this and was so excited. I love Winnie the Pooh. I know that sequels have been way overdone in the video world, but this is cool that it is an authorized sequel of the original.

Here is the link to the Today Show article: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/33139705/ns/today-today_books/

Eeyore is my favorite character. Who is your favorite??

Tigger for me, though Pooh isn't far behind. :)

And I'm also interested in the change in Eeyore. Sometimes I felt he was a little too glum but not willing to change...

Thanks for the extra link! :)
