I posted a list under books to give a 2nd look - they are not all humorous tho - But - if you liked Evanovich i would definitely give Jane Rubinos mysteries a try - best of the sassy Nj books and the two main characters are my favorites - not really in the "wacky" vein some of the moments are quite serious - main character is the only girl in a big Italian clan with six older brothers - on the other hand if you are recuperating maybe you should wait - you will split your sides laughing at some of the dialogue. Also - another series that was pretty funny - the Peaches Dann books by Elizabeth Daniels Squire - there are some new paperback versions coming out this year Also - I dont know if anyone mentioned Denise Swansons "Scumble River" books but they are also very humorous - if you like books in the Diane Mott Davidson and Joan Hess vein you should like these.
