Checking out a New York Times article on summer "chick-lit"; I love the comment from a character in J. Courtney Sullivan’s “Commencement” regarding the term.

How do you define "chick-lit'? Or is it a too often used label you find to be somewhat misleading?

Thank you, Brenda, for the link to this article (which I probably would have missed on my own) and your question (which I never would have asked myself).

Now that you mention it, chick-lit is not high on my TBR list. Though some of the books listed in the article sound interesting (and some not so much), none will be on my summer buy list. The most compelling reason not to buy these books, of course, is the economy. Might I check a book or two mentioned from the library? Maybe.

That said, I must admit to enjoying chick flicks. Does that mean I should try audio books? Maybe I'll wait for the movie. ;-)
