Before Deathly Hallows was released JKR said that there were teachers at Hogwarts who were married and that this would be revealed in book 7.  Of course, we know now that this wasn't revealed in the book.  I think I remember reading somewhere that she just didn't have the time/opportunity to include it in the story.

So my question is, who do you think the married teachers were?  Has JKR ever said?  Maybe she'll include this information in her encyclopedia.

I don't recall her ever saying, but then I haven't read every single interview. If I had to guess, though, I'd say Flitwick, Sprout, and maybe even Pomfrey. :)

Well, not Snape and not DD!!!  Oh, and not Hagrid unless he is unfaithful...Madame Maxime.  I also think perhaps Sprout & Flitwick were married.  And what about Sinistra- she is mentioned from time to time but is a very undeveloped character who doesn't seem to be at Hogwarts as much.  Maybe her.

Before JKR outted DD, he and McGonagall were my top suspects.

In Deathly Hallows, right before the Battle of Hogwarts, JKR writes that a "significant look" was passed between McGonagall and (I think, I don't have my book handy) Sprout.  I remember the first time that I read it I wondered if there was something more than met the eye to that line.

We'll probably never know for sure, and it's not as though it even matters-but it makes for interesting speculation.

I'm thinking that the reason she made that point was b/c she intended to have Neville become the Herbology professor and be married to Hannah Abbott.  I'm sure some of the less known professors were married, but I doubt that Sprout, McGonagall, Flitwick were, I just can't see them married for some reason.  Even before DD was outted I still couldn't see McGonagall/DD together.

Just my thoughts.
