So which other versions of Alice have you seen/heard/read?

I've only seen 4 "film" versions, being in order seen, Disney, the 90's made for TV with everyone (and I mean everyone) in it. The Dr Jonathan Miller version, and the E. European one of I believe the 70's.

I do so love the original Carroll, both Looking Glass and Wonderland.

i really, really want to like the idea, but i don't have high hopes. Johnny Depp has a history of chosing really, really weird movies and from the previews this looks to be just that... weird. i think it'll either be really good or really bad. i'm hoping it's the former.

it reminds me a bit too much of Depp's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. that remake was absolutely terrible. (in my opinion)

when it comes out on dvd i'll get it from Redbox for $1. i won't risk actually spending much to see it.

Hi,

I think this is one of those I am going to see in the theater in 3-D. The experience - I hope - will be great.

I have high hopes with this film.

"Alice" and "Looking Glass" are really weird stories - as are the other Lewis Carroll stories I've read.
I've just read "The Sea Was Wet As Wet Could Be" by Gahan Wilson, an extremely weird and horrifying story based on "The Walrus And the Carpenter", in the anthology "Blood Is Not Enough" edited by Ellen Datlow. Once you read this, you'll never read the Alice stories as children's entertainment again!

Johnny Depp will probably be very good in this movie, but we won't know until it comes out.
