Movies that were utter perfection...

Oh, I know the answer to this one.
1) The Ladykillers. Alec Guinness, a well controlled Peter Sellars, ruthless Herbert Lom. Crisp, sharp, funny and dark.
2) Fargo. Cannot see any scenes that were too long, too short, too obtuse. It felt very real. The photography was beautiful, and everyone was on the mark. Fantastic.
3) The Pillow Book. All the wealth of a Greenaway film, but more accessible than his earlier works, and though fatal, more optimistic.
4) There is another film, should IMDb it, but it's an Akira Kurosawa film, I want to say Roshamon. It looks at the same crime from four different viewpoints. Great fun, well filmed.
5) My Neighbour Totoro. Why this of all Myazaki's films, I can't quite say, but it's got quite some charm. Even the US dub of it is well done. Full of heart, and beautiful pastoral images. Good pace and story. Just enough magic.
