My DD, Mizz Jillian, is hooked on the True Blood books.  Being a snob, I shook my head in disappointment every time she and her friends talked about them.  After much nagging, I acquiesced and watched two episodes on HBO and, like I imagined, hated it.  Well, DD said, of course the books are better than a filmed version; isn't that always the case?

She wore me down, people.  For this oh-so glorious week of All Things Scary, I borrowed the first book in the True Blood series from her bowing shelves.   I'm embarrassed to announce: I LOVE IT!  Cracked it open last night and was addicted by page twelve.

My question(s# is/are:  How many of you have read the series, or are reading it now?  Is it just me (Anne Rice is Queen!), or are you also too mortified to admit it?  Calling the writing sophomoric is a gross understatement, but I'm beyond engrossed, so I don't care who knows.  Well, maybe just a little -- I don't plan to whip Charlaine Harris out in my Gyno's waiting room any time soon.

Sorry, Pat.  I must confess I really know almost nothing about that series except that they are usually on the table in the center aisle in the bookstore right next to the Twilight books (which I have read).  Margo

Thanks for the tip. I'm always buying a couple of boxes of books for our school library when I'm there at Christmas. Anything that gets them hooked, is what I say. Well, it worked for you, right?

School?  No way, too much sex.
