I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we update our progress on our current projects and maybe have some accountability with regards to fulfilling deadlines and getting work done.

1. What are you working on?

2. What have you accomplished so far?

3. What do you want to accomplish this week?

1. What are you working on?

I have a non-fiction book in the works, "How to be Happy, even if your life sucks".  I am also working on getting back into writing fiction, but I'm not wokring on anything in particular at the moment.

2. What have you accomplished so far?

I have outlined roughly half of "How to be Happy" and I have written scattered ideas for the 2nd 1/2 that I need to organize and outline.

My fiction is lagging seriously behind.  I haven't accomplished hardly anything in many, many months.

3. What do you want to accomplish this week?

This week I want to finish outlining "How to be Happy" and I want to finish reading the 3 books I am currently reading for research on "Happy".

I also want to have written at least 3 somethings in the fiction genre this week.  I am not asking too much of myself, just working towards building my muscles again and learning to think and create again.

1. What are you working on?

Magic Stud, an urban fantasy thriller.

Sand Dollar Magic, a gothic urban fantasy.

Project3 an urban fantasy thriller.

2. What have you accomplished so far?

Magic Stud - in the arc of the ending.  This is the final draft.  Once I'm done, I'll set it aside for a few weeks and then go back for an editing and repair pass.  I skipped over a couple of chokepoints so I could get it done.

Sand Dollar Magic - Outline stage.  I've done a rough synopsis, and pulled out the key events.  Now I'm working on converting that into an outline and have done two of the key events.

Project3 - Still letting the idea develop.

3. What do you want to accomplish this week?

Magic Stud - Be nice if I surpassed page 279, which was previously a point where I couldn't pop over.  I'm on page 270 now.  I believe though I will be done by the end of September.

Sand Dollar Magic - Finish the remaining three events.  Maybe a little research on the location.

Project3 - I have three books from the library for research, so I want to get started on those.  They're mainly for general information, to help me develop the idea into a story.

This is a marvelous idea, Rebecca!!! It might be just what I need right now.

1. What are you working on?

The infamous cookbook.

2. What have you accomplished so far?

Thirteen and a half chapters of narrative are complete. Each needs a list of five to ten recipes to make it a cookbook. About a third of the recipes are done. (That's a guess. I'm afraid to count.)

3. What do you want to accomplish this week?

A minimum of two recipes must be added this week. I'll shoot for ten, though. I really must make those refrigerator pickles that are going in the book. Can't sell an idea I can't taste. Next week - Pickled Watermelon Rind! It will be easier to make up food after next week's shopping.

Writing's been rough lately. My neck, arm, and shoulder have been killing me for months. My back has joined the party so even cooking isn't easy. But ya gotta eat! I'll try to keep that attitude not only while I cook but also as I chronicle the cooking.

Don't think I've bitten off more than I can chew for this week. ;-)

You are so close to the end!! Yay!  Is there anything we can do to help you get over that 279 page hump?  Different things work for different people, I know that writing challenges and writing dares often help me force myself to think in a new way and that often helps when I'm stuck on a scene or a transition point.  If there is something we can do, let us know-I know I'd be happy to help.  :)
