I have an article on the newstands!
Well, the magazine published my article an issue earlier than was discussed in the contract, so I'm a little surprised to have the pleasure of announcing that I have an essay published in the Fall 2009 edition of the Boundary Waters Journal.
The essay started as an assignment for my advanced writing class during my senior year of college and over the next year, I fleshed it out into an essay about growing up in a wilderness area while the area was experiencing wind storms, wildfires, and, now, regrowth. It's published in the "canoe country ecology" section.
Unfortunately, it's a small publishing operation with a rather regional focus so there's no online link to the article. Although, my writing has appeared many times on newsprint and on the computer screen, this my first time on glossy paper and I'm rather excited about it!
