It may be possible to use a person's electronic medical records to predict the likelihood of domestic abuse years before it actually occurs, according to U.S. researchers.

They analyzed the medical records of more than 500,000 adults that included at least four years of data on hospital admissions and visits to emergency departments. In total, the electronic records included more than 16 million diagnoses.

Wow, you learn something new every day! I like this electronic age for some stuff, medical records just being one of them.

I wonder what the doctors look for in those records to make that prediction? I'd be real interested in finding out. I wonder how I could find out.

Thanks for the great info!

I would like to see more on this before I give my opion. I don't see how this could work for this but I like the idea of medical records being easy to get.

The reason I do not like this type of thing is that they are labeling someone before they ever do any thing. The way to end domestic violence is through education- anger management, teaching women the warning signs in dating, teaching men how to handle anger, etc. Idiots can have kids nowadays and so many people grow up in homes where they are not taught about healthy relationship boundaries, healthy coping skills, proper anger management skills, etc.
