So...my post op was today and the doctor said they were as follows:

1) Compound nevus
2) Compound nevus
3) Fibroepithelial polyp
4) Compound nevus
5) Lentiginous compound dysplastic nevus with mild atypia

She didn't seem too concerned with number 5 until she started another body check. A more thorough one and started finding ones...darker ones that look just like that one...like four of them...one is especially dark and I guess I never showed her it before. So she wants four more that look more dysplastic removed soon (like two weeks) and for me to watch several more of them that are lighter...

What the heck? Is this over the top or am I at risk here? She said they were are all benign so why are we worried?

(Sorry this is a cross post from the Skin Cancer mb too. I wanted to let you all know what happened)

Hi there - thanks for updating us!  I would bet your doctor's concern is in the fact that these 'benign' spots can change, or might not be as 'benign' as they appear at first glance.  Having dealt with a spot that looked like it 'might' be dysplastic turning out to BE cancerous, and it went deep, I am a believer in better-safe-than-sorry when it comes to mole/spot removal.  I know it's not the most convenient thing, and it certainly isn't cheap, but far less invasive and costly than treating skin cancer.   Chances are the tests on those spots will come back 'clean' ... but what if they don't?

If you have a question about why your doctor is doing something, or why she is saying one thing but acting like another, PLEASE speak up.  It's very important to know exactly what's going on with your health care.

Good luck, and please keep us posted!  I hope you have an easy time with the procedure, speedy healing, and NO bad test results.  :O)
