Hi everyone,

I've decided to try something new.......Beth, Eileen, Paul, legend and lurkers and all, please post and tell a little something about where you live.

Our own little roll call to see who's with us.

Best wishes in recovery,

Hi Rain

I live in Upstate or Central NYS. As I look out my window I see the horses next door and in the other directions is an overgrown field as far as the eyes can see. If I drive an hour north, I am in the beautiful Adirondacks. Two hours and I am at the St. Lawrence River.

I can't think of a better place to live. Except sometimes in winter....but that isn't here yet

Good Morning Friends,

You have a nice idea, Rain. I live in south central New Jersey, in Burlington County near the Delaware River and about equidistant between Trenton and Philadelphia in the Community of Willingboro. Willingboro is a community of about 38,000 and was formerly known as Levittown, NJ. It was once very rural before the suburbs exploded after WWII.
We still have some open space in the region and are on the rim of a vast protected pine forest known as the Pine Barrens. Carol and I enjoy paddling our canoe or kayaks in the little rivers that wind through this area and empty into the Delaware River or the Atlantic. It's close to the NJ shore and the Pocono mountains in PA. When we need an 'urban fix" Philadelphia is a short train ride. I'm a sports freak and can't afford professional sports tickets but Burlington County has strong High School athletic programs and it makes me feel like a kid again when I go as a spectator, football, basketball, wrestling and track&field. There are many nice restaurants and movie complexes around. It's a nice place to live very near Moorestown, NJ voted by Forbes Magazine as the best place to live. Believe me Willingboro is no Moorestown.

Moorestown is very wealthy. I think the taxes there would probably eat up my whole pension and railroad retirement money. Burlington County medical services are top notch,
and that's very important for a septugenarian.

But it's always nice to get away and February is spent in Cedar Key, FL.

Enough about me tell us about you.

Good wishes to all and
please be safe.

Paul

Well, I'm a New Yorker by birth, but I've lived on the beautiful Jersey shore for 22 years now.  The house I've been renting for 14 years faces east, and is about a mile and a half from the ocean.

The township of Neptune City used to be a part of the larger township of Neptune, but incorporated quite a while back and has its own mayor and school.  It's still pretty quiet here, but drugs and other social problems are on the rise.  In particular, recently there's been a rash of bicycle thefts, and ds has lost not one but TWO bikes in the last couple of weeks.

One absolutely wonderful thing about living in New Jersey is that there are more AA, Al-Anon and other 12-step meetings than just about anywhere else!  There's just no excuse for a person with a ride to attend at least one and maybe more meetings every day.

I'm attaching Trooper's latest photo, where you can see the view from my upstairs front window...

Next?
