With all that is happening in the world today the "small" joys are even more important. I have several and would like to hear yours also.

Waking in the morning I see the sky and trees. My bedroom has a huge window that lets in light and I love it. Then of course there is Rat. He is a six lb yorkie that greets me every morning with kisses. Those are just two of my "small" joys. Just seems if you think about those and add them up, makes for a more joyful life. Much to easy to get overloaded with sadness and woes...lets search out our small joys.

Which reminds me. I entered AA with fear and anger. Now it is one of my big joys to be in recovery. Without it the "small" joys are difficult to see.

Best wishes in recovery,

Rain

One of my "small joys" is getting bigger -- Trooper is nine weeks old now, and quite the little ball of energy.  His favorite pasttime is to follow me around and bite my ankles.  >OUCH!<  So it's REALLY a small joy when he lets me pick him up and cuddle him without trying to bite.  LOL

Another is my son, Chris.  He has a full-time job at a local convenience store, and it certainly seems to be helping him in the self-confidence and responsibility departments.  That's a genuine small joy, considering where we were with him last year.

And coming to this board and seeing new posts is a small joy, too.  I know you people are out there, so why don't you come on in and join us?  Unlike Trooper, we don't bite!

I just had to giggle, Beth -- isn't it funny how we alkies can use "hectic" and "joy" to describe the same thing?  It has actually been quite hectic at work here, too, which is unusual for my job.  However, the time seems to fly by when I'm busy, so I guess that's another joy to add to the list, isn't it?

Happy School year!

Eileen,

Trouper is a cutie. I recall the ankle biting stage with trouble. LOL it will pass, I hope.

I was very glad to hear your son is doing better. A job can make a huge difference. Seems in this day and age that is how one forms their social group. hard on people who are unable to work or get around.

Best wishes in recovery,

Rain
