Cyndi, I would like to point out (respectfully, of course) that the many of the people of the Alcohol Problems board do also use the 12 Steps of AA in recovery, as well as other methods of quitting alcohol. I wouldn't want anyone to think that it is only an alternative to AA.

Good to see you! The description of the alcohol problems board states:

Have problems with alcohol and not sure which type of treatment or program is best for you? Tried several approaches and are interested in hearing from others in the same boat? Get support, encouragement and advice from this caring iVillage community

We see it as a place to explore, discuss and receive support on the many treatments available, AA included.    :)  There's also a 12-Step Recovery board for support on all 12-step programs, AA included.  Just realized some members may not be aware of that board!
