Yoohoo... it's so quiet here! Where are you? Are you playing hide and seek and forgot to tell me?

I apologize for being away. I was taking a break. The end of September was the big Muslim holidays, so not household staff including my dad's carer. My father now has to undergo home dialysis 4 times a day, and since it was his first months (stressful for us all), I was with him not only for the dialysis but most of the day, too. I also signed a contract which means a new job (and new responsibilities and new things to worries and stress about). The good thing is that I work from home... yeah! And for two days last week we didn't have any electricity at all due to fires at two power relay stations. Sigh!

I'm slowly coming back here. I've missed you all! How are you? Has fall started to come your way?

Glad to see you back, Poppy! I've missed you here! I hope that things are getting better for you. I've been hearing about the earthquakes and bombs in Indonesia and I've been worried about you, so I hope that you and your loved ones are doing ok.

I haven't been on any of the boards much myself lately. Things have been a little stressful for me. DH has been busy making post-graduation plans. He's talked to his transfer adviser and he's getting ready to e-mail people at the College of Charleston to see about going to school there. And that will later mean plans to move.

DH has been very stressed from his schoolwork and that effects me as well. He's been having a lot of problems lately with his laptop. And my stereo decided to die and I haven't been able to find one yet that's within our budget.

We've suddenly found ourselves the proud parents of two orphaned kittens about three weeks old. So we're in the process of nursing them. One is black with some white on the neck and chest and the other one is a white and grey tabby.

We were planning on going to NC this coming weekend for the Renaissance faire, but I think that we're going to cancel and go another weekend. Not just because we have the kittens to take care of, but also because they are calling for rain in NC. And I would rather walk around in the cold than the rain. The only thing is that the next weekend is a NASCAR weekend and there might not be any available hotel rooms, so we might have to go the weekend of the 24/25. I'll ask DH what he wants to do when he comes home tonight from his class.

And I had a job interview at the Banfield hospital in PetSmart today. So I'm waiting to hear from word from them.

I've been around lurking in the background,,, travelling back and forth and yes the holidays were a bit strenous, so many people off and away. I've also been trying to do a promo for the JHome board ,,, that is tiring,, and afterwards I don't feel like being online at all ;O)

I hope you dad is doing better,,, is the day nurse back yet ? Very hard on you (()) I'm so grateful for my health,, we take it for granted until something goes haywire... sigh

I've missed you, too!

Bomb-wise we're okay. Earthquake-wise, we're also okay so far. No one can predict the when and where of an earthquake, and since we're in the Ring of Fire, it's something that we live with and hope that it's never A Big One. As for the bombs, they killed the mastermind of most of the bombings, but it doesn't mean we're out of the woods yet.

Your DH graduates next year, doesn't he? I hope that his plans to transfer to Charleston works and that you both have a smooth transition and move :-)

Kittens! Boy, those are very small kittens. Are you going to adopt them both or are you going to put them up for adoption once they are old enough?

That's great that you had a job interview. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. Let us know what they say!
