Children of Alcoholic Parents

Shewwweee ! Can't believe this message board is still going strong after all these years! Haven't been around in years ( and I mean literally 5 years atleast). It's good to know that you girls are all still out there helping one another out! For those of you that do remember me here's an update :

I had the perfect life, married to the perfect man with a perfect career & a perfect house... and I was so bored and unhappy I almost committed suicide! The COAA perfectionist in me kept telling me that this was what I wanted, perfection, but I was so bored and unhappy. I fell desperately in love with a co-worker ( who incidently was married to an alcoholic!!) and threw caution, marriage, career & self preservation to the wind and ran away with him. We now live on the other side of South Africa away from everyone who knew us as we were. For a while it felt like hiding, but we have made our own space in society in our new town. We have friends, pets and a life together. It was possibly the most difficult decision of my life, but, I gave up everything I thought I wanted for something more important - LOVE!

Hello and welcome back! I am happy to see you here, though I have not been around 5 years ago.

But we are/ I am always happy to hear back from our friends and members and I am sure the ladies who have been here 5 years ago will remember, too.

Wow, you have made some big decisions and it looks like they were the best for you... It must have been a turbulent time. I hope you guys get to enjoy some peace and quiet now.

Been a while since I have posted here. See a few other "faces' missing also.

Have missed chatting with many of you. Like to keep up on how you are dealing with life. Of late life has been kind of running with me. Not good! Think it's suppose to be the other way around.

That's about it for now. Going to check in more often though.
