Birth Control

Hi ladies!  I'm sure this isn't the first time this question has been asked and I imagine there are some cliche answers - but I'm hoping to get some solid evidence or evidence to the contrary.

I've been on BCP for my entire adult life.  15 years to be exact.  I've read when you come off BC you can become pregnant immediately.  And I'm just thinking... if my body has become accustom to not releasing an egg for 15 years and now all of a sudden it is to start releasing eggs... how can I know it's not going to release defunct eggs (atleast initially)!?!?  I'm sure there are a lot of shriveled up eggs hanging out in there having not been released all this time.  Heck, I'm not even sure my body will know how to select a HEALTHY and developed egg to release.

Is this crazy?  Are there any studies or reports on this?

Some doctors suggest waiting a couple of cycles before TTC so that your body gets back to it's normal rhythm.

From what I've read and seen there is no evidence to suggest long term BC use affects fertility or health of babies conceived right after coming off the pill.
