I have Paragard - copper IUD in place - for about a year now.  I've had semi regular heavy periods....until this latest period that I've had, which was light.  Is it possible to have an IUD, have your period, and be pregnant? For the past week or so, I have been having dizziness, headache, and nausea in the a.m. like clockwork.  Around 2 p.m. I'm back to feeling fine again.  It's literally every day...I thought that maybe I was coming down with the flu, but my symptoms aren't getting any worse, or any better.  My hubbie left me know that my mood swings are terrible.... - just figured this is PMS -  I've noticed slight weight gain....just in the past month or so...but that could just be due to poor eating habits.  lol. My boobs - "don't even think about touching them". I took a HPT a couple weeks ago, and it was negative.  I just have that "baby" feeling.  I wouldn't be upset if I was pregnant....just didn't really think it to be possible to have the IUD, as well as "periods".

It's not common, but pregnancy can happen with an IUD in place.  If you suspect that you are pregnant or that you might be having other problems due to the IUD, you should call your doctor as soon as possible.
