Hi Marissa,
I just found this board and absolutely HAD to respond to your post... no, I haven't had surgery but I have always hated the fact that I got "my Dad's nose," which is okay on him but entirely unfeminine! In every picture of myself I just cringe. Like you, I'm thinking about the procedure but would hate to get through it and look like a different person. You know, everyone remembers Jennifer Grey from "Dirty Dancing," but she went and got a nose job and now you can't even recognise her. That would really bother me.
So it has been interesting for me to read everyone's replies here, very very informative. I have just begun mentioning it to me husband (he thinks I'm crazy,) and because I have a deviated septum & therefore have trouble breathing normally at times, I think it is worth considering. I really can't stand my schnoz, but at least it's straight... I would be horrified to come out with just a teeny little turned-up triangle in the middle of my face!
I am currently pregnant with our second child, so surgery of this kind is not in the immediate future for me. Still, here I am, considering it and wondering how it would be...
Thank you for your post, and to all who have shared their valuable experience here!
Best of luck, Marissa - do let us know what else you learn, what you decide, and how you feel about it!
