Hello:

My husband has taken two doses of Remicade. One on 3/3/09 and the second on 3/18/09. He has experienced little to no improvement. Most who take Remicade seem to have a quick positive reaction and I was wondering if anyone experienced a gradual improvement over several weeks. Thank you so much and please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Erica

My husband had a gradual reaction on Remicade. In fact, for a while in the beginning I was getting very frustrated because he didn't seem to be any better yet the doctor was just keeping him on it. But the doctor had said that this was his last hope to avoid surgery because he was having a bad flare up so I held on. I'll admitt it took a FULL YEAR to get him into remission but when he was taken off it, the doctor admitted it was a great success story for Remicade because he honestly thought my husband would wind up needing surgery. There's assurance he won't need it later in life but for now, I thank God for Remicade! It made me worry about him like crazy, especially when he got the flu and it took a whole year but the Remicade did get him into remission.
