Gayle;

One word of caution.lf d-manose were so wonderful all of the health professionals would be sending all of their patients there.  So if you decide to try it please do so with caution.

Hi, Harriette!

Exactly!!! I am not much for holistic meds and feel the same way. After all, some of our most dangerous drugs such as digitalis are originally 'natual'--foxglove, right? It has been a while. Great to hear from you. How is the flu where you are? Mom had a TIA and ended up in hospital with it for 4 days and they were covered with the flu. No 'swine' flu vax yet here, but we got our regular flu shots.

Thanks for noticing and for the warning. I appreciate it. My meds all come from the doc, unless a vitamin is prescribed. (But I did not want to be rude)

Stay well! Hugs,

Gayle

Gayle;

Good to hear from you again.  Glad your Mom is doing better.  The flu is everywhere!  We did manage to get our regular flu shots but H1N1 has not come to my area yet.  Should be here around the first of Nov.  I'm going to Austrailia in Dec to see my Son and DinLaw and I will need to have that before I travel.  AS requires it, and since I have asthma it is a good idea anyway.

As you know, but I will say this for those who lurk on messages, handwashing and keeping your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth goes a long way to preventing the spread of this disease.  So I am practicing what I preach with great care to minimise my chances of catching this virus.

Keep warm, stay happy and you will be a long way down the road to good health

gentle hugs

Harriette,

So true about the precautions against the flu! I carry a bottle of hand sanitizer, but I think it is best in a pinch. That good old soap and water wash just feels better. (With my SLE -cause Sjogrens, I am constantly using eye drops (hourly) so clean hands are a must and sometimes difficult when away from home. So I do the sanitizer. But then I think about the germy hands that held and opened and closed the bottle. If you think about it, there is no way to keep those little bottles germ free, is there?)

Have a great trip to Australia! My mom always wanted to see their zoo. She was a big Steve Erwin (sic?) fan. Hope you get your flu shots by then.

Great to hear from you.

Hugs and stay well!

Gayle
