Cystitis, Bladder & UTI's

hello everyone

about two days i started experiencing mild back pain, it was not that bad so i took some gas x. and went on. i still felt it but it was not that bad. well around 2am the next morning i was awaken with a horrible pain felt like child birth, (not pregnant) , so i woke up my daughter and at that time i could not even walk i laid out across her bed and had to go get get me some clothes to put on so she could take me to the hospital.

on the way to the hospital the pain started to easy, but i wen to the hospital anyway. the ER doctor said it sounded like kidney stone, but since i was not having pain he gave me a pain med and sent me on my way, when while checking out, the horrible pain started up again so i ask the secretary could i go back to the back when i got to the back the pain was so bad they gave me a painshot to numb the pain, and sent me back in the lobby for 20 min. well while in the lobby the pain got worse and worse till i started to cry. when i look up the doctor had done came from the back to get me and told me he was gone to start and IV and run some test and x-rays. the gave me another pain killer after that and a nausea shot. with all the pain med i could not feel a think. the doctor was for sure it was kidney stone. so they took me into x-ray and the x-ray results came back negative for kidney stone but it did show ( that i have a cm ovarian cyst on me right ovary and some fibard's in my uterus) so he told me that the cyst could be causing me back pain but he was not sure, so told me all he could be was give me some pain med until i saw my obgyn.

so my question for you all is what causes serve back pain with you have an ovarian cyst? it get very bad when i walk or stand longer that 2 minutes? and i mean the pain is like birth pain everytime they come? has anyone experience this or have any idea what causes it?

(i go to the obgyn Tuesday so she can check it out)

First off I hope that you are feeling better when you have a chance to read this. 

I am glad that you are going to see your doctor on Tues as you do need to be seen.  Your doctor will probably tell you some of the same stuff that I am going to tell you so you can just double check this with her.  Not all kidney stones show up on x-ray so that issue is not closed at this point.  The most common ones do, so is likely that this is not a kidney stone, but it is still possible.

Yes, ovarian cysts do hurt.   They can refer their pain in any direction and in your case it appears that it is refered to your back, for some women it is refered to their abdomens.  You may be prememopausal and if so you are going to the correct doctor to help you manage this.
