My wife had UTI a few weeks ago and just ended it's treatment last Friday.  I was wondering if it's possible that the delirim she has is because of it. I ask because doctor says it only happens to people who are elderly, not young like she is, yet I have read that it can happen to people her age.

Does anyone have knowledge of someone that had delirium/confusion at a younger age than those who are deemed elderly, especially in their 30s or 20s?

Thank you from a husband who's wfe is still in the hospital slowly coming back to him.

This is an unusual situation even in the elderly and since your wife is in the hospital it would suggest that this is exactly where she should be at this time.  I would asume that your doctor has a team of doctors helping him manage this situation with your wife.  All of this underscores that UTIs for some of us are not simple infections that can be ignored.

I hope that your wife continues to make steady progress.  Please keep us posted on her progress.  We will keep her and you in our thoughts and prayers.

gentle hugs
