I thought I was going crazy because I have been having auditory hallucinations now for almost 2 weeks. I thought it was new medication I was put on for migraines, but even after I stopped taking it......I had these weird sounds in my head. This is going to sound nuts to you if you have never experienced it, but it is like a mosquito buzzing in my ear or sometimes even a moaning. I have tinnitus and I have learned to live with the ringing , but this is so different and can NOT be ignored. It sometimes drowns out the other sounds around me even. I did some research and I found out that I am not going NUTS. There is a condition called Musical Ear Syndrome and it can be all kind of sounds.I am so relieved that I found this. I was really woriied that my hearing was going faster then I thought it would. I am still waiting for my new hearing aids because my original Audiologist is no longer working at my ENT's office. I did not find this out till last week when I called for an update. VRS has set me up with a new Audiologist and I see her on Fri. I picked up my ear molds and a copy of my latest hearing test to give to them. I am hoping they will be able to have my new Aids for me in a few weeks. This problem tends to hit people who are not having auditory stimulation which I have not been because my old Hearing Aids are failing more every day now. Have any of you heard of this or experienced it even ??? Here is a link to an article on this....
