Mouthwash question

I like to use anti-plaque or anti-cavity mouthwash before I brush my teeth, but I'm having trouble finding a kind that doesn't cause a burning sensation on my tongue. I usually can't swish it around in my mouth for the full recommended time because it bothers me so much. I'd really like to keep using mouthwash, though, because I do like the fresh, clean feeling after I spit it out. I'd just like to skip the tongue burning sensation. Can anyone recommend a brand or type of mouthwash that doesn't cause this sensation? Or is it just an inevitable part of mouthwash?

From my own experience, most mouthwashes contain alcohol and that is what causes the burning sensation. The only thing I can suggest is to try some of the more natural preparations, but read their labels first!

What I try to do is lean forward and then side-to-side, so the liquid is around my teeth through gravity and I don't swish too much. Other than that, I don't have any good suggestions...sorry!

Thanks for replying to me! Your suggestion about leaning forward and then side to side is a good one. I'll give it a try! :-)

It works for me and sometimes figuring out a 'different' way to do something is all that is needed. Let me know if it works for you...be sure to keep your tongue pulled back and out of the way!

Hi! I tried your method of swishing the mouthwash and it worked really well for me! Thank you so much. :-) Another thing that has helped me is to not take quite so much. I used to take a big giant mouthful and it was just too much, which I think was part of the problem. :-)
