Question: I leak sometimes and my latest checkup revealed a uterine prolapse. What are my options?

It is not uncommon for women to have both urinary incontinence and uterine prolapse. If you were unaware that you had a prolapse, then it probably is not significant and does not require treatment. Many women who have had babies in the past have some amount of prolapse, which is normal. If you have feelings of a bulge, pressure or that something is falling out of the vagina, you might want to have treatment for the prolapse as well as the incontinence. Treatments for prolapse include surgery as well as the use of a pessary. Thankfully, a pessary can treat both problems at once, as can surgery.
