discussion title:
Bladder Infections Link to Incontinence?
Question: I get frequent bladder infections. Could that contribute to urinary incontinence?
During the period of active infection, urinary tract infections can cause frequent urination, pain with urination, and in some cases urinary incontinence. However, if incontinence continues after an infection has been treated or between episodes of infection, then other reasons for the incontinence should be considered. Some conditions that cause incontinence can also predispose women to recurrent bladder infections, such as diabetes and failure to empty the bladder completely with voiding.
