Hi,

I am a male of 29 yrs. I had undergone an appendicitis surgery almost 9 months back and since then, I am facing problems with urinating. Initially it was hard for me to start the urination, I didnt feel the pressure until the bladder was full. This is a little better now but now totally corrected.

Even now when I go for urination, it comes out on its own pace i.e. the flow is very slow unlike earlier when it used to come out with lots of pressure. Also I am not able to put any pressure to it to make it come out faster and in the end I cant give it the final push to take out the few drops to clean the passage, some drops would still remain inside and will trouble me later.

This is causing me problems even with the sex life, like earlier if I used to take out the semen after 10 days it would come out with a lots of pressure and would go around 3-4 feets away from me, and now it doesnt even go 1 inch away.

All this is causing problems for me, pls advice.

Thanks
Sandy

Sounds like some pelvic floor muscle exercises may help to increase the
tone of the outlet.  There are also some devices, such as certain types
of pessaries, that can be fit to insert and protect against leakage
during certain activities such as exercise.  You should probably see
someone specially trained in this sort of thing such as a Urologist who
specializes in female urology or a Urogynecologist.

The symptoms you are describing are potentially serious, especially for someone your age and given their relationship with the appendicitis surgery.  I strongly suggest you see a urologist – or at least your primary care provider – for an evaluation as soon as possible.
