i am an active 50+ woman.  i golf, ski, run, walk and work, work, work.  in every single daily activity, i struggle with this.  if i laugh, i pee.  if i cry, i pee.  if i trip, sneeze, cough.... i pee!  when i asked my doctor (a much too-young, female ob-gyn) she offered a pursery ring - which she shoved up 4 different sizes one day ~ all of which fell out... i then spent 5 days of cramps and bleeding (i remember now, the reason i LOVE being post-menopausal)

so, i continue...... i wear pantie liners every single day - bulkier pads when doing any physical activity.

are there no options????

You should definitely get a second opinion, as there are a whole range of other options ranging from pelvic floor muscle exercises to surgery (which can be less scary than it sounds).  Hopefully your primary care provider can help you locate a gynecologist or urologist in your area who specialize in incontinence care.

Hi Madness53:

You need to go to a Uro/Gynecology Clinic.  Yep, there are such clinics.  There are a full series of tests that can be performed to determine what is causing you to wet yourself all the time.

Don't be surprise to find that most of these clinics are associated with your Local University Medical centers.  Just make sure that the physician you see specializes in both urology & Gyn repairs for women.  Also, the wait time for an appointment can be a few months.  But get going girl and get yourself registered.  Your problem will not go away on its own.

Good Luck.

 Always, Lou
