I'm new to this Board.
I'm active on another board and when I announced that today I was beginnning to diet, Jacquie invited me here.

I'd like to lose 13 lbs.
I know that doesn't sound like a lot of weight but I am 5' tall so 13 lbs is a significant amount of weight when you're as close to the ground as I am.

Sugar is my downfall.
I have a terrible sweet tooth and CRAVE all things sweet.
I'm a sugar addict; I can't seem to just eat "a little" - the more I eat it, the more I want/need it.
It is an addictive behavior.
I do pretty good during the day but when the sun goes down I want to munch.

That's my story.
Thanks for the invite, Jacquie!

Welcome Deb,
You'll find a lot of sweet addicts here. I know from experience that the longer I hold off ingesting anything sweet, the less my cravings will be. How about we both take it 1 day at a time. For tomorrow, I'm going to start the day with pure protein - eggs. Veggie soup with brown rice for lunch, snacks of celery sticks w/peanut butter (natural - no sugar). If I get through afternoon w/o going nuts with cravings, supper shouldn't be a problem because there's usually some lean meat & cooked veggies. Worst time will be evenings, so I'm gonna save my bowl of yogurt & blueberries & sliced almonds. Or maybe sugar free jello with fruit, which is the only way DH eats fruit.

I am making a resolution not to do any sweet baking until Thanksgiving. As soon as it gets cold, I just want to bake up a storm. Must be some reaction to having the A/C on & oven off all summer. If DH would eat more of what I bake, it would be great. He's one of those people who FORGETS the pie/cake/brownies/cookies are THERE!!!

Jacquie

Hi, Deb!

I'm glad you posted.  We're always happy to welcome another buddy to the bunch.  I battle my sweet tooth too -- especially during this time of year, so I know how you're feeling.  I just have to take it one day at a time sometimes.  Yesterday was a good day.  Today - not so much.  Tomorrow - I want to be great!

Welcome!

:o) - Karen
