Thanks for sharing your story. I think most anyone who has suffered from alcoholism/addiction can relate to what you are going through. I certainly can even though I do not have kids and am an early 30's male. I will try not to be offensive in this post..........
You said you are not going back to treatment?
Why because people may notice you are gone for a couple weeks? You would have to explain this to your kids? My guess is you are not fooling people like you think you are with being "room Mom" etc. People know what is going on. They kay not know whethe rit is booze, pills, or grass but they know. I used to think I was fooling everyone b/c I had a really good job and never got out of control. Turns out I was only fooling myself.
I wish you knew how much better life could be. I wish I could bottle up the miracle of recovery and give it to you. I cannot. You may remember from your stint in treatment. You have to want what we have. Vigourous honesty is what is needed. When you are ready to take this step, I recomend finding a local aa group. You may consider na too.
Best of luck in your struggles. Remember, it will not get any better as the elevator only goes down. You are free to get off at any time.
