Hello. My name is Jamie and I'm from Texas. I am 19 years old and 5 months pregnant with my first child. My fiance, and soon to be father, just started to drugs again. He stopped for 3 months when we found out that I was pregnant, and now he's just gone. I had to kick him out because not only is he doing cocaine, but he is shooting it up. He promised me that he would be with me forever and now I don't even know what he is doing or where he is. I saw him about two days ago and I bought him a gift card to a grocery store so I knew he would be eating SOMETHING.. He spends ALL his money on coke. I'm freaking out and I'm so scared because I don't want to raise this baby alone, but I know that I can't have him around either if he is still doing drugs. My therapist(who also saw him for drug addiction) says that I should just cut my losses and not talk to him. She says I should mourn him like he's dead because he's never coming back. I'm losing all hope of us ever being normal again. He promises that he is going to go to inpatient rehab but I just don't believe him anymore.. HELP I'm going crazy here!!

Hi jamiemichelle

I am Beth, I am watching this board until it gets a leader. I am sorry for your circumstances. It is hard enough to be pregnant without problems. You really need to decide which is more important, you and your baby or your boyfriend. There is nothing you can do...you didn't cause, can't control and can't cure his use of cocaine. Please talk to someone in person about what happens to the friends and families of substance abusers. It doesn't get better unless the person stops completely.

You need to know that you are worth more than the life you are condemning yourself to. Please take care of yourself and your child.
