Hi people. Well I will try to get right to the point. I am 26 years old and have been shooting chiva since I was 17. I have been on and off the streets, in and out of 12-step recovery homes, and rehabs, and am currently living with my boyfriend who is too an addict. Originally I moved in with him trying to escape my sober-living so I could clean up, however he relapsed right along with me, and we have been trudging the road to what ever ends together for going on two years now. My purpose for righting this cry for help, is this. I am craving to better my life and the relationships that I've burnt during this last run. I am working full time, and try to keep this part of my life well hidden from everyone. I don't even hang out with people. I know I really have to want to be clean, to accomplish it, but have forgotten how to even be around people outside of my work day. I am not ready to enter a program but am willing to try almost anything new. I don't want to lose my job since it seems to be my home away from home and basically want to start over without having to do actually start over. And also I believe that what ever advise anyone has to give will not only benefit myself but will help others in understanding people like me or there own addiction (if they have one). So if you have something to write, don't hold back, I need what ever suggestions come my way. Thanks.

Hi

Welcome to the board! I am Beth, and I kinda watch this board, because it doesn't have a community leader. If you really want to stop, you must get some real life help. If 12 Step programs aren't your thing, try SMART Recovery or Rational Recovery, or give the 12 Steps a good run again. You absolutely deserve a better life.

What can I do or say to help convince you that you are worth more than you think?
