Okay I need you guys to throw in your expertise. i am 5 weeks post op and seem to be having trouble with the patch. In the beginning they put a .1 estradoil patch on me. Then 2 weeks ago the Dr told me to try to cut them in half because I was sick at my stomach and had a metallic taste in my mouth. This morning I put on a fresh half and wham the taste is back!!! i also have a nagging headache that has been hanging around for about a week. Not a bad one just enough to be noticed. I go in to for my 6 week check up next Monday and was going to wait until then to ask again about the patch, i really enjoy wearing it but dang enough is enough. Or am I just being impatient again? lol

Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated. Dawn

Dawn, I would suggest you mention this to your dr when you see him on Monday. I didn't do the patch because I was annoyed that it was falling off before my week was up so I opted for the premarin pill instead. The headache sounds like a reaction to the hormone imho but remember i'm no expert.

Ya know it's one thing to not be  patient but i don't think that is you, There is no reason you should suffer. Getting hormones regulated can be difficult, I just got luck.

Talk to your dr and update us when you can. Sorry I wasn't of more help.

Hugs & Prayers,

Danielle

Oh please you are always helpful. Just having someone to bounce this stuff off of is a great help. I am just getting so frustrated!!! I really wanted the patch to work but I don't think I can keep this up, I jsut don't feel like I am getting what I am supposed to with the blasted thing half off or taped on. The metal taste is really strong again today. I am about ready to throw the things away and go natural, but that thought scares me too.

Anyway I will talk to him Monday if I daon't call tomorrow!! I just really hate to be a pest even when things aren't right. But how much is a girl to take!LOL

How are you feeling? Thanks again, Dawn

Hi Dawn. Please forgive me for taking so long to reply. I have been unpacking (still) and just haven't been online.

It is strange that you have a metallic taste in your mouth! Have you seen the doc, what did they say if so? Hmmm I hope they get your hormones all straightened out.

Hugs,
Stacy

Hey I just went to the dr yesterday so your timing is great.LOL He put me on a different brand and a lower dosage (.05) and they are working really good for now. I have actually had this one on for 24 hours and not had to tape it on yet.LOL He said that it may have been something with that brand or the doseage was still off so we will see...

Are you getting settled in? how is your new house? Thanks for asking about the problem. One more question do you have any info on getting in the tanning bed with the patch on? These are the things I never think of in the office!! Squeezes, Dawn
