Bladder issues related to fibroids?

I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids about 5 years ago, and other than some heavy bleeding and passing large clots during my periods, they haven't caused too much discomfort.

In the past few months, I have noticed a feeling of fullness/pressue in my bladder, even after I have urinated. In the past couple of weeks, I have had times where the urine stream has been extremely slow, and it seems to take forever to empty my bladder. This mostly occurs during the night, or first thing in the morning.

Just wondering if any of you have similar issues, and if it could be related to the fibroids.

Thanks for your input.

I am no doctor or anything like that but from my experience I say there is a high change it is related. I did not have fibroids but I did have endo. I also had that sensation of fullness. Had to go very often to the bathroom. At night if my bladder got fuller than usual because I was asleep and needed to wake up to go to the bathroom. After emptying my bladder I had a horrible sharp pain like it was being rip apart from me.

With surgery my doctor found endo in between my uterus and bladder walls. Ever since then I never have had that pain again. And the 6 months after surgery didn't even have the urge to urinate like I had before. I do have it now for a different reason, and a happpy one (pregnancy) but my bladder issues wwere resolved with getting rid of the endo.

I guess your fibroids are sitting on your bladder or putting weghit on them and that's why you feel this. Have you consider having they removed? My Mom did have fibroids. I think she didn't know about them. And one day she had to have an emergency hysterectomy due to them. Of course this was like 25 years ago and medicine was something else. So it is good that your doctors keep an eye on them.

Good luck
