Hi Wyenetta, My daughter's neurologists have always told me that seizure disorder is just another name for Epilepsy. They say they prefer to use the term seizure disorder because of negative connatations associated with the term Epilepsy and generally only use the term Epilepsy for medical/insurance diagnostics. I do know though, that just because you have a seizure, it does not mean you have a seizure disorder. If I were you, I'd call your Neurologist and get her to explain exactly what she means to you. I'd love to know myself and hope that other people with some information on this might drop by and offer their opinions.
As far as your license, each state is different. Here where I live you have to be seizure free from meds for 6 months before you can get your license. You'll have to check with your state's driver's bureau to find out what the rule is for your situation.
As far as disability, we have been told that one does not qualify for disability based on a diagnosis of seizure disorder/Epilepsy unless your seizures are completely out of control and interferes with day to day function. Before quitting your job, you might want to check with your local authorities on whether or not you could qualify based on your situation.
I'm sorry you're left so confused over all this and do hope you find the information you need. Honestly though, I'd start by calling the Neuro and tell her what you've researched for yourself and get her thoughts on it all.
