Have you ever been locked out of your car and realized either the keys were in it or for some reason your key stopped working? What did you do?

More often than I care to admit!  LOL

Once, I locked myself out of my car with my oldest inside in his carseat.  I was visiting my dad in another town and he had to call a locksmith to come out and help me.  Another time, I dropped my keys in my van while getting my other son out and didn't realize it until I shut the door (locked).  My sister-in-law had to run to my house and get my spare key and bring it to me at WalMart and I had to have someone else pick up my other kids from school.

AMA - The Alberta Motor Association. That's why I keep my membership active - they come and unlock my car door for me.

I've had the key not work and have locked myself out of the car.  I've been known to call my Dad.  LOL  My Pinto became famous for the key not working.  LOL

I have done this two times.  Once when I was 19 I locked my keys in my car, with the car running.  Waiting for a pop a lock company would have resulted in a lot of wasted gas, but thankfully my dad was able to pop the lock for me.  The second time was just a few years ago.  We have an automatic start on the car and I had started it, went outside, put my keys in it and shut the door to start scraping the windows I believe and the doors were locked (even though I had just unlocked them), so I couldn't get in - again, motor running.  I called my husband at work to see if the old remote would work for the car, and he told me it should, so I went in the house (my mom lives with us, so she let me in) and got the old remote.  Even to this day when I'm scraping windows, I always leave at least one door cracked, or the window down enough for me to unlock it should the doors relock themselves.
