Did you know?  Epilepsy affects over 3 million Americans of all ages – more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and Parkinson’s disease combined. Almost 500 new cases of epilepsy are diagnosed every day in the United States. Epilepsy affects 50,000,000 people worldwide.

Since November is Epilepsy Awareness Month, I thought you all might like to have a little information about this condition.

I had seizures when I was younger and then when I had brain surgery in 1996 right after the death of my grandmother on my father's side of the family and that I have not had a seizure going onto 14 years on February 26th of this coming year. Thanks to the doctor that I had and the surgeon that dad the surgery and I had my surgery done at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your success story with us. We'd love to hear more about your surgery. Was it difficult for you to recover?

It was so diffulcult for me to recover from that surgery I was only 11 and my mother had to put some cream on my head for my hair to grow back and that my doctor took me off of that cream right after it was 6 months that I was seizure free from the surgery.
