It's finally sunny here, so I am taking my mother to a forest tomorrow to look at peak fall colors. I love their quilt-like effects.

While she can't do much hiking, I may leave her and a friend at a restaurant while I do a short trail with the kids.

Anyone else gonna do some prime fall foliage viewing?

Our neighbor has the Gyngko trees and the leaves are turning yellow and starting to fall. Some have the stink

fruit that drops everywhere. There are trees that has the leaves changing orange color and drops the pokey pointy nuts everywhere. When I bike , I have to be really careful.

Every fall when I was a kid, our crabapple tree would drop crabapples everywhere. Man, when they started to rot, it was horrible. We had to rake them up, and if you were walking barefoot and stepped on the mushy rotten ones--ICK!

Yes the stink fruit droppings are smelly. The smell that Fall is here. I got tired of raking the fruit up from the city's gyngko tree , so I had them take it out. Now I have a young crape myrtle. I wonder when the flowers from that tree will come out and bloom. The city planted it in 2008. The flowers from those trees at other
neighborhoods where I bike are pretty.

Not me - I'm not much of a "nature person".
